Ya Mujib Ya Majid, Alhamdulillah

The melody for this body prayer arose from the ringing of church bells throughout Freiburg, Germany. With so many tones of different sized bells from several churches, a certain melody arose. I thought about how universal it is indeed to be called to prayer in so many cultures of the earth. And it is a reminder that the Beloved that is the Present may answer our prayers if only we can truly sense and feel to be present to the world and life force around us. There is a melancholy flavor to the melody that represents a calling out to the Beloved from a place of longing, separation and even abandonment. This aspect of abandonment is something we surely know in our walk as human beings. Yet the One that is Creation is truly abundantly everywhere (Ya Majid) if only we can reach out through the darkness of our human condition through prayer, through faith so to experience and feel the overflowing superabundance that is our birthright. Then by grace we may be inspired to praise!
